HOST AN EVENT
The Plant at Kyle is a superb event and corporate retreat venue set on seventeen Hill-Country acres only 30 miles from Austin (70 miles from San Antonio). The unique complex and grounds have been the site for many memorable gatherings, including weddings, birthday parties, meetings, retreats, classes, and performances. The property can accommodate intimate groups as well as gatherings of up to 300 people.
Our guests plan and organize their own events. While The Plant does not offer event planning or management services, the owners will be happy to provide you with recommendations for independent caterers, rental companies, concierge services, and event organizers upon request. For example for expert help with a corporate retreat, we confidently refer clients to Austin-based The Creative Executive. We follow sustainable practices using single stream recycling, composting, and dark night sky lighting.
The Plant is an environmentally sensitive, versatile space for events of all kinds and styles. To give you a sense of the variety of experiences, visit our Facebook or Instagram pages or search the internet for images of "The Plant at Kyle" to see what others have posted to serve as reference and inspiration.
Event rental pricing is based on type of event, dates, and number of attendees. For example a weekday rental cost for 15 people or less starts at $1,050 (standard season) or $700 (winter discount) including tax and cleaning fee. To improve our sustainability (to the Plant and the planet), our 2025 going-forward policy is to limit events to 50 guests. We offer significant midweek and winter season discounts. Our winter discount season is for non-holiday dates between November 15th through the end of March. A two night minimum rental is required during our standard season for events with 50 guests or less.
Event amenities include:
Flexible entrance level floor plan - informal or formal events can be easily arranged including standing and/or seated areas.
A well-appointed kitchen - can be used to prepare meals from scratch, or as a caterer staging area.
In addition to the other furniture that is always out, we have six large “farm tables” available with seating, plates, glasses, utensils & napkins for up to 50 people - provided at no extra charge.
Wireless internet access - the internet service is via t-mobile and the password is “lake.flato”
Ample parking space is available in a field immediately adjacent to the house.
The house has three bathrooms. Additional portable toilets are required for events involving more than 100 guests.
The entire first floor area including bedroom and bathroom is wheel chair accessible.
