Gather with family, friends or colleagues at this limestone and steel architectural landmark on 17 Hill Country acres just 30 miles from downtown Austin. With dramatic and varied spaces perfect for entertaining, this is a truly unique getaway setting for a for a weekend, a week, or more. Relax in "the world's largest screened-in porch," take a dip in the covered outdoor pool, read a book on one of several shaded patios, or on a hammock hanging in a grove of trees.

The tastefully furnished, 3-bedroom home sleeps up to ten in king or queen-sized beds and two bunk beds. The focus here is on year-round indoor/outdoor living perfected in classic Texas ranch houses. 

Standard season vacation weekends rent for $825/night with a minimum two night stay. Including Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax and cleaning fee: a standard season weekend is $2,100 and a winter season weekend is $1,225 with additional consecutive nights discounted.

Artists (especially writers, poets, drawers, and dreamers) may be interest to know that the Plant hosts an artist retreat/residency program administered by the Rude Mechs.

COVID NOTE: In addition to our regular and thorough cleaning protocols, we have instituted new COVID-related protocols that we’ll be delighted to describe in detail.

Amenities for our overnight guests include:

  • A fully equipped kitchen (for cooking and serving), dining tables, chairs, plates, napkins & utensils for up to 50 guests. For over 50 guests, a rental company can supply additional tables, chairs, etc.

  • Linens provided for all bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Three full baths (the downstairs one is small and rustic)

  • Washer / dryer

  • Central heat and air conditioning

  • Wireless internet access

  • Radio/CD/DVD player

  • Magazines of local interest

  • Books, nature field guides, star charts, and board games

  • Bocce Ball, Ladder Toss, Bean Bag Toss, Crochet, and Washer Toss, as well as a Scavenger game

  • Acres of woods, a dry creekbed, and prairie to explore
